A high school delinquent and an honours student find themselves in a Freaky Friday situation when they somehow accidentally switch bodies after falling down a flight of stairs at the same time.

In the new romantic teen comedy anime Yamada-kun to 7-nin no Majo (Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches), Ryu Yamada is a bored high school student and well known delinquent brawler, while the quiet and demure Urara Shiraishi is the school’s top student.

After switching bodies, the pair decides to take advantage of the situation, with Shiraishi helping Yamada pass a make-up exam and Yamada dealing with Shiraishi’s bullying problems. However things get more and more complicated as more people find out about their secret. What funny escapades will this unlikely couple get mixed up in? And what have the seven witches mentioned in the title got to do with anything?

Yamada-kun is the follow-up to Miki Yoshikawa’s Yankee-kun to Megane-chan (Flunk Punk Rumble), another story about a high school delinquent working hard to reform himself. This new project began serialisation in early 2012 in the magazine Weekly Shonen Magazine, and 17 volumes have been published so far.

English versions of the first two volumes were released earlier this year, with volume 3 expected on July 28.

The show looks to be a funny and fun romcom with  plenty of reasons to laugh, so check it out at www.crunchyroll.com.
