Three more Hong Kong students have been added to the ranks of those who achieved perfect scores in their International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma examinations.
The remarked IB scores show that Brian Wong Yue-shun of South Island School, Justin Cheng Yan-yiu from Sha Tin College and Grace Chin Ho-yun from West Island School all scored the perfect 45 points on their exams.
Adding the three new students to the 14 English School Foundation (ESF) students who had perfect scores makes 2015 a record-breaking year for ESF in IB Diploma successes.
With 17 students attaining top marks, ESF Chief Executive Officer Belinda Greer attributes the success to both exceptional students and dedicated staff, and the hard work from both parties.
"The results for 2015 are exceptional, with high levels of achievements across all of our schools," she said. "I congratulate both students and staff for their hard work."
Brian said: "Getting 45 reflects that despite its challenges, taking a laidback approach to the IB does not mean that a perfect score is unreachable."
Justin added: "While I don't need the extra mark for my university offer, it's great to have a second opinion on a highly subjective component of the IB programme."
For Grace, it's a way of thanking her parents. "This new mark will increase my chances of getting a scholarship, which would help lessen the financial burden on my parents."
