Hong Kong hit with hail and intense winds

We asked our readers to write an essay titled "My Day out with Shawn Mendes". Here is one of the entries. It has not been edited.

To start off my day, I would take Shawn on one of Hong Kong’s most beautiful hiking trails, all the way to the hidden beauty of the Tai Tam waterfalls. Tucked away in between towering trees and piles of rocks, the waterfalls are the perfect, fresh start to the day. Also the ideal place for beautiful Instagram photos! Once we’ve spent our time relaxing and taking a swim in the simultaneous warmth and cool breeze of the morning, we would go to Stanley for brunch. After a delicious meal at the Boathouse, we would explore the one-of-a-kind Stanley market, where local Hongkongers sell items and clothing truly unique to Hong Kong’s culture. Then we would make our way to Causeway Bay, so that Shawn could experience the true hustle and bustle of Hong Kong. I would make sure he tried some of Hong Kong’s tasty Gong Cha, better known as bubble tea, then lead him around the most known streets in Causeway Bay. We would then take the MTR to Central. In Central he would be able to see how Hongkongers truly get around. From the honking taxis to the constant flow of businessmen and women, he would be able to see the center of Hong Kong’s life. I would take him on a quick tour of the famous IFC mall, before boarding the Peak Tram, where we would be able to overlook the gorgeous, never-ending metropolitan city of Hong Kong. After a walk-around in the Peak Galleria and around Victoria Peak, we would take one of Hong Kong’s famous red taxis down to the Central Ferry Piers, and take a ferry out to Tsim Sha Tsui, where we would be just in time for a somewhat early dinner at Tosca, in the ICC, which is in the top 15 highest restaurants in the world. With a beautiful view of Hong Kong, we would dine wonderfully and learn more about each other. After a long, amazing day of exploring Hong Kong, we would return to Central and take a relaxing stroll through to Wanchai, before having one last coffee or bubble tea and returning Shawn to his hotel. This would be the dream day with Shawn Mendes.
