I say: If I could be any animal, I would choose to be...
Each week we’ll choose readers’ responses to share. This week we want to know:
A unique voice
I’d like to be a peacock. I remember, one summer in India, staring at one of these beautiful birds. My grandma would say, “Look, they’re calling you” when she heard them in our back garden, because their calls sound like my name.
Shaik Mogdoom Rasmiyah, 17, St Mary’s Canossian College
A very calm animal
I’d choose to be a deer because they’re smart and calm animals. They’re also very cute. What I like about them most is that they’re very gentle; they wouldn’t hurt another animal unless it was attacking them.
Ngai Tsz-pan, 14, Lingnan Secondary School
A relaxing life
I’d love to be a cat. I like getting attention but most of the time I like being independent like them. I’d love to spend my day lying on the couch while watching TV. This is what I call a relaxing life.
Yoonjung Choi, 14, Hong Kong International School
Peripheral vision
I’d be an owl because most people think owls are very smart. Owls can also turn their heads 270 degrees in each direction, and I think that is super awesome.
Bosco Ho Ou-kwok, 12, STFA Tam Pak Yu College
No memory, no worries
I’d choose to be a goldfish because they only remember things that have just happened to them. They have no real worries or concerns.
Warwick Lai, 16, Fung Kai Liu Man Shek Tong Secondary School
Free as a bird
I’d like to be a bird so I could fly in the sky and sing beautifully. They have lots of freedom, which is why I think life as a bird would be amazing.
Jasmine Cho, 14, Cheung Chuk Shan College
Just like an ant
I’d like to be an ant. Ants are very hard working and know how to divide work between the other ants in their colony. They are very fair.
Leung Yan-hei, 15, Lingnan Secondary School
Fun and games, all day long
A dog, so I can do nothing but eat and sleep all day. I would also get to run and play in a park. I wouldn’t need to wash myself if I got all muddy, either. I think dogs have very happy lives.
Cheung Wai-yan, 13, Po Leung Kuk Ma Kam Ming College
Sleep. Eat. Repeat.
I’d be a koala. Koala’s are one of the cutest animals in the world and they’re my favourite animal. If I were a koala, I’d spend most of my time sleeping and eating.
Kobe Tou Cheuk-Lun, 13, Po Leung Kuk No 1 W H Cheung College
