You have probably heard these news terms being discussed in the papers or on TV. Here is how to use them in English:

1. 印花稅 - Stamp duty

On Friday, the government announced a doubling of stamp duties on home and non-residential properties valued at more than HK$2 million.

2. 投機買賣 - Speculation

The new measures to cool property prices are likely to curb speculation in the non-residential market and lead to a fall in prices, property agents said.

3. 宣誓就職 - Sworn in

Park Geun-hye was sworn in as South Korea's first female president yesterday.

4. 就職典禮 - Inauguration ceremony

Park's inauguration ceremony included a 21-gun salute and a performance from Korean rapper Psy of his song Gangnam Style.

5. 退稅 - Tax rebate

Last year, Financial Secretary John Tsang Chun-wah presented a HK$80 billion basket of measures that included a salaries tax rebate of up to HK$12,000.
